Ceramic statuette, 'Cat of Loyalty and Elegance'

Playful and sweet, a cat smiles an endearing smile. It is said that the Spanish brought cats to Peru during Colonial times, and gave them away as symbols of good will and companionship. Since then, people in Peru give cats as a gift of love and loyalty. From Lulli Luca's "Andean Felines" collection, this ceramic sculpture is painted by hand featuring glyphs from the Paracas culture. Luca names each sculpture according to the base color.
