Wool tapestry, 'Whimsical Geometry'
Colors fall into a dance of geometry incorporated into this woven masterpiece. The Yurivilca Family looks to the past for inspiration, in the artistic traditions of Peru's many cultures. Working on a handloom, they weave strands of wool dyed with natural and artificial dyes, resulting in a tapestry of hypnotic beauty and intense coloring. The Yurivilca call their creation Mishi, which is the Quechua term for "cat."
