Wood of this age is specifically chosen for its distinctive pattern. The difficulty of finding suitable wood to craft means high quality aged olive wood products are not widely available and are truly unique and one of a kind. An olive wood serving knife is included. The Story Behind The Product Franco & his son live in an economically underdeveloped neighborhood in Lima, Peru. Wood carving has been passed down from father to son for generations and Franco has learned and worked the legendary Spanish skill since he was a young boy. Peru?s craftsmen hold the master key to creating these unique pieces of art. Franco is one of the most skilled artists and a master craftsman. Franco works with 22 artisans and Worldstock is one of their main sources of income. They use traditional methods & the only power tool they use is a polisher. Everything else is hand-crafted. Franco obtains wood from the forest area of Peru. No olive tree is damaged or destroyed in the wood harvesting process. It is gathered and sold to artisans when the trees are pruned and then used to create priceless works of art. What is Worldstock? The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities.
